A few weeks ago at Purchase the always entertaining Rusty Mack played Django Reinhardt for me for the first time. I always appreciated jazz, but never enough to listen to it on my own. I can't even describe the emotions that went through me after hearing this man play. It is jubilant but melancholy, catchy and utterly unique. Django makes the world a little bit brighter.
